This module builds on the knowledge gained and further develops aspects of tax-related competencies which allow students to ensure tax compliance and identify opportunities for tax planning, where appropriate. Ghana and further international dimensions of taxation will be considered, with skills developed from the analysis and evaluation of complex scenarios. Students will be able to demonstrate mastery of communication by conveying appropriate levels of advice to a wide range of clients; all applied to a high ethical standard.
On completion of this module, candidates will reach a competency sufficient to be able to:
- Compute and advise on opportunities for optimal tax outcomes for complex situations in a legitimate and ethical manner
- Compute and advise on the corporate tax liabilities of entities and groups for complex situations, including taxation of specialised areas such as mining and mineral operations, petroleum operations, trusts, financial services and exempt organisations.
- Prepare appropriate communications with clients and tax authorities, including interpretation of tax statutes
